Description of the organisation

Siemens Industry Software (SIS), a subsidiary of Siemens AG, delivers advanced simulation and testing solutions for a wide range of industries with a strong focus on aerospace and aeronautics. SIS develops state-of-the-art digital engineering technologies for virtual design, performance verification and certification, including multiphysics simulation, system modeling, advanced crash and fluid-structure interaction analysis, and numerous additional capabilities. Committed to sustainability and climate neutrality, Siemens actively supports low-carbon aviation initiatives. As a Clean Aviation member, SIS contributes to the Hydrogen Propulsion Aircraft pillar supporting multiple European hydrogen-related research topics.

Role in the CRYOSTAR Project

In the CRYOSTAR project, Siemens participates as an associated partner providing technical advice, software access and methodological support. SIS assists with WP4 activities of Cranfield University researchers, focusing on simulations of tank sloshing and crash behavior of a fuselage-integrated cryogenic hydrogen tank. These simulations employ state-of-the-art Simcenter RADIOSS software and coupled multi-physics approaches.
