Role in the CRYOSTAR Project
Mare Group plays a leading role in the CRYOSTAR project as Work Package leader for Modelling, Simulation and Analysis (WP4). The company is responsible for the development of high-fidelity numerical models to support the assessment of crashworthiness of fuselage-integrated liquid hydrogen tanks.
Mare Group contributes to the design and validation of finite element models of the full-scale test article, performing both static and nonlinear crash simulations, including advanced methodologies to capture complex physical phenomena. The company also leads the numerical–experimental correlation process, ensuring consistency between simulation results and experimental data.
In addition, Mare Group supports the definition of crash scenarios, the evaluation of structural responses under dynamic loads, and the development of methodologies contributing to certification processes. Through these activities, the company provides key expertise in simulation-driven design and virtual validation, enabling reliable and efficient assessment of safety-critical aerospace systems.
Mare Group is also responsible for communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities, supporting the effective promotion of project results and their uptake by relevant stakeholders.
