Description of the organisation
Elemental Numerics is a strategic aerospace partner with leading expertise in the modelling and simulation of multi-physics and multi-phase systems and devices. Founded in 2021 as a spin-off of the University of Cape Town, it is highly specialized in CFD-based multi-phase and liquid impact simulations and is a long standing provider of both consulting and CFD software to premier companies such as Airbus. A key technology is its own in-house developed software AlphaFlow which is up to 40x faster than standard CFD. Among many applications, AlphaFlow offers unparalleled accuracy for fuel containment modelling. This includes cryogenic liquefied fuels such as LNG, liquid methane (CH₄) and liquid hydrogen (LH₂).
Role in the CRYOSTAR Project
Elemental will contribute by participating online in topic-specific (WP4) meetings to add technical input. Where there is a clear overlap with their work on liquid impact modelling they may propose test cases and data. Their in-kind contribution adds up to EURO 3000.
